Jean Harlow books in print?
How come there are currently no books on the 30's biggest sex symbol in print? Are there any new ones on the horizon? I just find it odd that the woman who inspired the likes of famous women over the decades, from Marilyn Monroe & Jayne Mansfield to Gwen Stefani and Sharon Stone, is apparently being met by the public with "a lack of interest." It seems there would be some some sort of interest in the one who got the ball rolling. I would also like to see a new feature film on her and a picture/coffee table book of some kind of the Bull/Hurrell/Allen photos. How can one of historys most glamorous and photographed women not have had AT LEAST ONE picture book some SEVEN decades since her death? Mark Viera has one coming out on Garbo which looks quite nice, but Harlow's sessions have been mocked by many stars that came after her, and you would just think that there'd be more on her out there. Very disappointing to say the least. R.C. |

I agree with you, I know you can get the many bios about Harlow at used book store and through Amazon, but it would be nice to see a new bio done. Lynn Dougherty Webmaster |

Lynn, There was a new bio/picture book listed on her about a year ago that was up for pre-order at Amazon and then it was suddenly cancelled. I wonder what happened to it? There are more Marilyn Monroe biographies coming, but what can we possibly learn about MM that hasn't already beeen printed in the HUNDREDS, maybe thousands of bios already done? It would be nice if writers would place their efforts toward a subject where a dozen bios aren't released on he/she every year. I just thought that Harlow's association with Gwen Stefani would have opened the floodgates....apparently I was mistaken. -R.C. |

I totally agree with you! I'm so sick of hearing about Marilyn Monroe and people who were inspired by Jean Harlow. She was such a fantastic woman and deserves recognition just like the rest of 'em. |

I agree, and have you SEEN the prices at Amazon for the Stenn bio? Very annoying! PS The reason Monroe is so much bigger than Harlow is simple. Marilyn replaced Jean. |

Yes....the clueless public. There simply was/is no replacing Jean. |
