Well, the latest biography I have read was Dark Star about John Gilbert. It was an excellent biography of John Gilbert. I would recommend the Garbo book by Barry Parris as well as the new book about David Niven called, "NIV". You can see all my newer recommendations about biographies here: http://www.classicmoviefavorites.com/recommend.html Thanks for posting! Lynn Dougherty Webmaster Classic Movie Favorites |

Hi David Nivens "the moons a balloon" and "bring on the empty horses" are absolutely brilliant. A must if you are into the golden era of Hollywood. Merry Xmas Ivan |

Please forgive this plug for a book that I know will be an excellent edition to everyone's movie library. I'd like to recommend to everyone a bio coming out in February 2007 by my friend, John O'Dowd. He has written a biography about the actress Barbara Payton a starlet from the 1950's who led a sad life and hit the skids in the late 1960's. He has worked for years over it and you can read more about it at the site I designed for him at this address: http://www.hollywoodstarletbarbarapayton.com You can also advance purchase the book from bearmanormedia.com. |
