Vilma Ebsen
Hello Lynn and everyone. Just to let everyone know that the talented "tap" dancer Vilma Ebsen, brother of Buddy Ebsen passed away on March 12th aged 96. Vilma starred in one movie with her brother, the lovely "Broadway Melody of 1935" also starring Eleanor Powell, Robert Taylor, Frances Langford and June Knight. The movie is so wonderful, so heartwarming and enjoyable. Vilma and Buddy had three dance routines in the movie. Vilma retired afterwards to take up dance teaching. I believe Vilma and her sister were still teaching dance into the 1990's. Vilma and Buddy were big stars on Broadway in the 1920's and 1930's. Buddy went on to further success in the TV series "The Beverly Hillbillies". Buddy passed away in 2003. |
