Plunge
Plunge Contorted, knees bent, gritted teeth, Like a pellet, I descend. Notes of significance caress and provoke, Steam up my eyes with the moistness of romance. In my chest a cavity drips and leaks, Through my tightly buttoned, starched shirt. I take the photos, in their diversity, The pages of words to be glossed, not absorbed The Night, Is unfolded gently from the box of treasured memories I form a paper chain, And suspend it between two precarious ledges, Above the embers of lust and the piranhas of doubt… A desperate gale-force wind rips, Link by link, My fragile creation. |
