Days and Dreams

The day of the cherry tree
whose blossoms dancing down
lay a damp carpet on the ground,
beside the idle brook where
sandy pools drank the heat
from dirty tired feet.

Or the day we hung the washing line
with bobbing Chinese lanterns
that gave your face a devilish cast
as you spun, soles to the stars,
on our old swing, collecting
petals in your hair.

Perhaps the day we sat unspeaking
between bright billowing curtains.
One with the goblin market-men
the other on a drop of dew,
while the sombre maestro
tried to give away his waltz.

Now the night you asked me
for my best of days while
I lay cocooned in leg and arm
and heavy tickling black,
your mouth pressed against
my heart opened ear.

Re: Days and Dreams

Nice work. You nailed it, in style and composition - a true expression of days and dreams. It bewilds me why nobody posted no comment(s), You got `em all saying:"whao!"

Keep it up, love to read more of your work.

cheers.
