UDSA has waived the $94 (5 years) permit fee for personal importation of insulin.
You will still need a permit to import insulin and it will still be valid for 5 years, but the $94 fee for first-time filing and subsequent renewals is a thing of the past.
USDA's website still shows a fee is required. We will post a link to the no-fee information when it has been updated.
At this time, we are not certain if the online application still requires a fee; as soon as we have current information we can link to, we will post it here and at the DIF website.
This makes it easier to import beef and pork insulins!
