Muscles hurting? Taking longer to heal up? Too close to retirement to risk having to take off for a major injury? Face it, some of us are getting older……..

Greg Hester and Martine Hinrichs are developing a special interest group for flatwater floats.
Generally speaking, the trips would cater to longboats (touring yaks) but also be open to SOTs, canoes, rec kayaks or all the hybrids appearing.

The focus of the trips will be flatwater and many trips will be in state. When able, we plan to schedule concurrent flatwater trips with the out of state ww trips. We also will plan to do joint trips with HCC. As the weather cools, we hope to do several canoe (yak) camping trips. Would like to have at least one Florida trip a year and maybe more including a manatee trip, a play in the surf trip for SOTs (a pet friendly house rental is available inexpensively in Blue Mtn Lake -Fl panhandle sleeps 8-10 at $100/night)

An example of what we will be doing are the last 2 trips Greg and I did on creeks off the Warrior river. The first one was a 16 mile paddle and included 2 creeks off the warrior. The last one was app 8 miles paddle and we went up the heavily damaged and silted in Daniels creek and walked up to an old train tunnel with a petrified tree in the top of the tunnel.

If interested, we need your name and email so we can set up a mailing list and maybe meet once or twice to get your interests. Send info to Martine Hinrichs at southernheiter@yahoo.com
