Wow,I just picked up a Bham Weekly newspaper and did not realize the BCC still exists. Is there anyone out there that was a member 30 years ago??
My husband and I joined the club in our younger and not so suicidal type days, with Bill and Sue Carney. This was when we met the great John Foshee, who I think was one of the founders (correct me if I'm wrong). We have some great memories of Class I training at the Cahaba River and Class II at the Hiawassee. Bull Dog Bend and the Grammars (the grandson bought our canoe)!! a few years ago. I'm so glad to see the BCC going strong. Good Luck and if any of the old-time members remember David and I, please contact me. We have retired and run a custom framing and art gallery in Pelham. Doing what we have always loved--but missing the outdoors and rapids a whole lot! Cheers! |
