Never used before, washing help!!
Hello! I just got cloth diapers for the first time, I ordered the All in One's. They did not come with any instruction and I am a total novice at this. The website did say I can put them in the washer/dryer, but I do not know if I am supposed to use a certain setting? water temperature? detergent? I do not want to ruin these. Does anyone know these answers? I looked over past threads and I see that people use a diaper cleaning service. I had NO idea those existed. Is that what I am supposed to do? I hope I can just wash them myself. Also, are there any cleaning tips I should know? I hope someone can help. Thank you soooooo much!!!

There is a website I found that recommended certain detergents for cloth diapers (I did a search for washing cloth diapers and found it). There are some generic brands you can use. I use the ALDI grocery store brand detergent and it works great. I have prefolds and wash them in the cold cycle without detergent (directly from dry diaper pail), then in hot water with 1/2 the amount of detergent recommended. Just never use fabric softener (or detergents that contain it like Dreft). My diapers do have yellow stains (breastfed baby) but are otherwise clean and smell good. I also wash my diaper covers seperately with the same detergent. Hope this helps! |
