This is something I've been thinking about for a long time regarding my mother and brother's relationship, and just wondering if the following has happened in one way or another with others out there and what the likelyhood my gut instincts on this are right.
As in previous posts I explained about how my mother has basically a MBP relationship with my adult brother (late 30's), and along with her own factitious and Munch. Synd. issues. I also explained of one instance when my brother was in his early to mid twenties I came home to find my mother and brother sleeping in the same bed. This was a very weird expirience in which my mother first said he was only doing this because he was scared due to a previous reaction he had to ironically enough from one of her own medications she gave him. Years later she's changed the story to he was scared because of me, the so called violent terror of the home I was kicked out of. I think she's changed the story as no one execpts the first version and she's already convinced people that I'm a bad person. Anyways the sleeping incident was very strange. As I explained before my brother is a very lite sleeper. Normally if someone walks in the room he's up very quick. In this instance he remained still, stiff like a board flat on his back, with the covers pulled up to his neck (you could see his bare shoulders) so he didn't have his shirt on, and was clearly faking sleep. All the while my mother was acting nervious and saying "ah ah ah he's only in here because he was scared".
My wheels in my brain started turning at that moment and started to think of things that were weird and out of place when we were kids aside from the faking illnesses and such. My mother quite frequently more so when I was a young child would walk about the house naked, and or in her underwear. My mom isn't a small women. she's actaully quite large and has a weight problem, so everything is quite visible even when she was doing this in her under wear. My brother and I at that time would complain and say we didn't want to see it and tell her to stop, and that it was embarrassing. She would laugh and make excuses. This seem to be the norm of our lives and just part of her other personality disorders. It seem like she liked showing her body to her kids. I don't know any normal parent that would behave this way.
Then I started thinking back to again when we were kids and she would tell my brother and I stories in graffic detail how she was raped. I'm hearing this all at the age of 7 ! Oddly enough she was supposed to have been raped once but she has two different stories. Anyways, I felt embarrassed and odd about hearing this kinda stuff. She would say stuff like "going down on someone is when they want you to put a penis in your mouth". She said she was telling us this to try to prevent us from being raped like her. Now mind you my mom is talking to me about "going down" on someone and I'm 7 and my brother is 9 ! WEIRD !
So now you have my brother who's overly religious, supposed to be virgin, with no social life, faking illnesses. You have my mom faking illnesses and her weird life. Then all of a sudden I find them in the bed ! Is my gut feeling right ? I've thought about this over and over for about 10-15 years. Like most people with these type of personality disorders I'm not aloud close enough to get any real answers. I'm just curious has another of people on this board with parents with this MBP type personality disorders display this type of behavior ? Also, do these mothers tend to try to have a sexual relationship with their sons ? I started to think you have a man with sexual desires that has personality disorders, and my mother with the same. Yet they've been living this secluded life together for about 10-15 years. Beides the faking illnesses and such this just doesn't seem right. Can any one else relate.
