Message:   Though I can't comment on this case specifically because I've never met your sister, I can tell you that self-induced or feigned urinary/kidney/bladder symptoms are very common in factitious disorder and Munchausen syndrome. People sometimes falsely claim to have severe pain from passing stones when they don't; they sometimes present small pieces of rocks, etc., as being "kidney stones"; they sometimes self-induce actual infections, perhaps by using feces; and they sometimes manipulate urine specimens so they appear abnormal (e.g., by adding blood or feces). Much more about urinary FD can be found in my book, Playing Sick.
