I don't understand why i keep reading that they can help you if it's diagnosed early. They couldn't help me. |

Re: ttts
Hi Heather, I guess in terms of being helped with an early diagnosis depends on what stage TTTS is at. I was diagnosed at 19 weeks and the condition was monitored regularly from that point. It was only minor and everytime I went for a scan, the outlook was brighter. However, the condition went acute one night and I only have one of my twins. On the other hand, Linda (who is a co-founder of the group with me) had a more severe stage of TTTS and after regular monitoring and time in hospital, she has two healthy boys. Unfortunately, TTTS can change very quickly. With regular monitoring the babies can at least have the best chance. Also if the mother is aware of what changes to look for then if there is a significant change, she can get medical assistance as soon as possible. There are so many factors and the situation can change so quickly. It is very cruel to so many babies and their families. If you want to talk about it more, please email me. Take care, Vicki --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to: I don't understand why i keep reading that they can help you if it's diagnosed early. They couldn't help me. |
