My spectacled parrotlet won't eat his pellets, he seems to only want to eat his seed (cockatiel mix with no sunflower seeds). I'm not sure how to get him to eat them, we've tried another brand but still no luck. Got any suggestions??

Hi sorry i have not replied before now i am havng trouble logging into the site.

Some parrotlets like other birds will not eat pellets and will only stick to there normal seed diet.

If you are refering to a budgie as a parrotlet which some are then they should only be fed on a good budgie seed as they do not eat sunflowers or pellets and never will.

If your worried your bird is not getting enough from his diet then you can hang millet spray in his cage 2-3 times per week this is full of fats and minerals, ALso trying him on things like darky leafy greens like cabbage, other vegtables and fruits, WIth birds you have to keep trying different things until you find which they prefer.

Just because he wont eat one thing one day does not mean he wont like it the next
