Do you believe God has a hand in determining war?
The question posed on the blog today is about God and whether or not He has a hand in he determination of war. What is your response? I am interested in hearing the whys and why nots of your opinions. |

I dont think its Gods desire to create war....but rather wars are consequences of man's action.Yes God knew that wars would happen, he even spoke of it through the prophets.God being just can't withhold his judgement even though his children may die of it. |

The Holy Bible teaches us that the first war was in Heaven. Lucifer was and is the instigator of all war; as he is the author of confusion: which in most cases, war is a bi-product of. God has no hand in determining war (originates in the heart of man, because of our sinful nature), but He uses the evil that men do, as with all things, to His glory. So, the result of war, in the end, always will fufill His kingdom, power and glory forever. Matthew 6:9-13: "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." |

Deborah D. Adams I like your answer. My experience with scriptures is, all you have to do is find a verse that matches your point of view, and poof, you're scriptural and so of course, those who support war will do this. I served in the military and believe that defense is actually a deterrent to war, for instance, the cold war. To not have a defense is to invite war. But I am ashamed that our country actually started a war. We didn't start Vietnam, we just got involved, but this is worse, we actually started this one, with the support of many who call themselves Christian, who should know full well that Jesus would not approve. He allowed himself to be nailed to a cross as an example humility and if we claim to be a follower of him, we should be willing to do the same and not be starting wars. Thanks. |
