Earl Derr Biggers is "Ghost of Honor" at Left Coast Crime (LCC) Convention in March 2017

The LCC is having their annual convention March 16-19, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Honolulu HI. While this is a mystery writers convention a few interesting events will take place regarding that Best of American Detectives: Charlie Chan.

1. Author Earl Derr Biggers is the "Ghost of Honor" at the convention titled "Honolulu Havoc" Website: http://www.leftcoastcrime.org/2017/Program.html

2. Thurday, March 16th. 8PM that evening they will be showing two Chan Films "The Black Camel" and "Charlie Chan in Honolulu".

3. Saturday, March 19. As part of the panel discussions they have one titled, "Meet Charlie Chan: The Man & his Creator." Hosted by Authors Hal Glatzer, Les Blatt, & Rochelle Staab. Also, retired HNL Police Museum curator, Officer Eddie Croom, will host a panel, "Hawaii Crime Series: Policing in Hawaii from Kamehameha I to today. Officer Croom is also featured on the Charlie Chan featurettes, along with our own Rush Glick.

Unfortunately, this is a pricey event with over 300 attendees. Cost is $265 for the full 4 days, or $50 for a day to attend any and all panels for the day. (Then there is the plan ride over and the hotel :).

Just sharing info on one venue that still sees our hero, Charlie Chan, as a mainstay in the world of Detective fiction. The "Program" and "Panel" schedules are interesting fodder, should anyone ever decide to host a Chan event. "Thank You So Much" Lou

Dear Lou,

Thank you! Yes, very pricey, but I would love to attend. Unfortunately life's realities will not allow for that...sadly! Hopefully Hawaii Steve will be able to take a look and let us know how this very worthy event unfolds!

Sincerely,
Rush
