A sad day as 4 years of the Charlie Chan Sunday Comics draws to an End!

I don't know about everyone else, but every Sunday its been a real treat for me to read the Sunday funnies in my local newspaper and that special one on the Charlie Chan Home website. I follow, Dagwood, Peanuts, Mary Worth, and others in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, then go to the website and click on "Chan Sunday Comics" link.

Last Sunday was the closing comic by illustrator/artist Alred Andriola. It ran from October 30, 1938 to May 31, 1942. The Chan strip, syndicated in newspapers across America, was Andriola's very first comic strip. It ended with this note from the artist:

"So, Charlie finishes his story to Lee--the last story, for this is the end
of the Charlie Chan series. And so, for the present at least, many thanks
and good-bye."

Yes a sad day, but with 4 years worth of weekly Sunday commic strips, I look forward to enjoying them all over again each Sunday on Rush's site.

Rush, as always "Thank you so much!"
Lou
