Are you talking about the serial stories that were written on the Charlie Chan Message Board about 20 years ago? If I remember correctly, a different person wrote each short chapter. Perhaps the person who runs that website (Kurt) has archives of the old messages, and can re-post the writings. It might be interesting to try to add to the stories that were only partially written.
Yes, that would be the best bet at obtaining these group projects. In 2002 a number of us carried on that "tradition" one final time as it turned out, and the results can be seen at: http://www.charliechan.info/id72.html
If anyone would be interested in reviving the group-produced stories, we could see if a group could be put together and see what results!
Pretty cool. Looks like a lot of work went into it! Rush, just where on the site is that located? I imagine the "Study," but can't locate it other than using the URL you sent. Lou
Rush, thank you for that invitation. However, at least at this time I'm engaged in to many projects for my own good. And unfortunately, I don't think my forte is in screenwriting. What it Charlie said in Paris, "Me no want dlinky--maybe later"!
I did not have time to read through the entire script, but...WOW! Obviously some serious work went into that. Lots of the typical Chan characteristics and detail...the flavor is definitely there! I could almost see the movie, while reading it. Hat's off to everyone who contributed.
Yes I did contribute from the start and it was great fun if not great art. I would do it again certainly. Cannot believe it was that long ago. About the time of the contreversy over the Fox Movie Channel banning the films for very lame P.C. concerns.
Let's put out the word and see what happens! The final version can be put into a script format and, if possible, we can add some images and place it here at this site.
So far as I know I worked on them all. I recall at times working with a deadline feeling in order to make way for the next chapter. The hardest, of course, was doing the climax. I wasn't able to bring up the link you posted. Which of the stories was it?
