The Sky Dragon translate problem

Hi, i'm from Bulgaria, and i have translated to bulgarian almost all
Charlie Chan films. The only one left is The Sky Dragon and The Red Dragon.
They, along with The Feathered Serpent, doesn't have english subtitles
and i have to translate from hear. The Feathered Serpent didn't pose much of
a difficulty, but i got problem with The Sky Dragon.
I can't understand what Lena Franklin says to Birmingham Brown about
her employer Wanda LaFern. About sixteen minute into the movie,
on which Birmingham replays "and all the time i thought she was a dancer".

Re: The Sky Dragon translate problem

Dear Boian,

It is a pleasure and an honor to meet a Charlie Chan fan from Bulgaria! Welcome!

Here is what Lena Franklin says to Birmingham Brown: "I'll have you know that Miss La Fern is an expert exponent of the terpsichorean art and a premier danseuse."

I can see how this line could be confusing, as I needed to look up "terpsichorean" to get the correct spelling and full meaning (relating to dance)!

Hopefully, this information will help you with your translation of the film. Please feel free to post more questions if you need additional help!

Sincerely,
Rush Glick

Re: The Sky Dragon translate problem

Thank you so much, as Chan would say.
This will help me.

Re: The Sky Dragon translate problem

Boian, same as Rush Said "an honor." Very interesting about how you are translating the movies. Is there a very big following for them in Bulgaria? That's great! Lou

Re: The Sky Dragon translate problem

Well there wasn't any following before, but after i have translated
much of the movies, maybe there is. I myself stumbled upon Charlie Chan
while searching for old detective movies.

Re: The Sky Dragon translate problem

Boian, that really sounds like quite the project! Are you on Rush's email listing, he sends out every week? That's a great way to keep up with all these movies. Best of luck with the rest of your project. Lou
