THIS WEEK: We have TWO of “The New Adventures of Charlie Chan,” starring J. Carroll Naish as Charlie Chan and featuring James Hong as Number One Son, Barry, to share on this Christmas Eve! Both are available online through the links provided at our Chat Room.
OUR PRESENTATIONS: “Voodoo Death” and “A Hamlet in Flames” (Both: 1957; 25 minutes) AND we continue an “extra” presentation consisting this week of THREE short clips featuring Mantan Moreland!
FILM SUMMARIES:
“Voodoo Death”: The host of a dinner at an English manor is murdered and circumstantial evidence points to a servant who is a practitioner of voodoo as the killer. Charlie Chan, who is among the guests, believes otherwise.
“A Hamlet in Flames”: In Germany, an extremely rare manuscript of Shakespeare's “Hamlet” comes up for sale by a wealthy baron and, following a series of attempts to steal it, Charlie Chan becomes involved.
TIME: We begin with arrivals and greetings at 7:30 EASTERN TIME. Then, we share our “extra” presentation which will be followed at exactly 8:15 when we roll our features for our Monday evening, “Voodoo Death” and “A Hamlet in Flames.”
