What's everyone doing for Chinese New Year, January 25th?
January 25th kicks off "The Year of the RAT!" When living in Honolulu, I'd take my grandkids to Chinatown to watch the Chinese New Year parade. However, Cleveland's Asia town defers their parade till May (Brrr.) I plan to eat a the Dragon Garden Restaurant, in Northfield, Ohio.
So what is everyone else doing? Lou
P.S. Of course, if it was still 1983 we could visit the "Charlie Chan Restaurant, Metcalf South Shopping Center, Overland Park, KS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBTIR0R8C94

My hometown has a small Asian population, but there are several fine Chinese restaurants. As usual, we will bring the children and grandchildren out to dinner at one of these restaurants around Chinese New Years, in keeping with a long family tradition.

John, that sounds very nice indeed! BTW if you haven't seen, check out the Youtube video (in my post above) if you get a Chan-ce (haha). Once upon a time there was a franchise of 43 Charlie Chan restaurants throughout the Midwest, based out of Youngstown, Ohio. They opened in 1975 and closed doors in 1983. Someone, made a replica of the one inside the Overland, KS Mall. It is in a museum inside the Overland Park Historic Society. I'm not sure if it' a life-size or scaled down model, but that is so crazy as to be fascinating (to me!). Ciao, Lou
