This is probably due to the war that was to come in about six months and the resulting nationwide drives for recycled materials, including paper...and, in a large amount...newspapers!

Wow! That Sunday Comic episode sure did a 180-degree. Charlie was so noble. Even though he was a murderer, Charlie had empathy for Ford Roberts, and his dying request. But Son Lee, really put proverbial icing on cake!
