We are back on-line after our electricity was turned back on. It had been off since 2:00 a.m. Wednesday morning because of thunderstorms.
These thunderstorms have been hitting us since Tuesday night. This morning there were some 300,000 in the Fort Worth-Dallas area still without power--We heard we were only part of 50,000 a little before noon.
Tuesday night, we had had the sirens blaring their warning to get to the most secure spot in the house. Luckily we missed the worst, a tornado that struck in Southeast Arlington, south of us.
The temperature wasn't the worst, what with almost continuing and saturating humidity. We were lucky that Mother managed to survive without going to the hospital, given that over most of Tuesday night and last night she had to sleep with an oxygen tank.
She's almost been doing airs above the ground with the air conditioner on!!
So you'll be stuck with us . . . until another storm strikes that doesn't like us!
What an ordeal you and your mother and family went through! We are so fortunate where I live that our weather is never severe. Tempting fate, I'll take the "worry" of earthquakes any day.
It is good to hear that everyone, especially your mother, is doing well, and may this remain so through MANY more storms to come...
To answer your question: We are always poorer for your absence, regardless of the brevity.
