I wanted to let everyone know that Mother is now firmly installed in the nursing home and already started on her therapies. She is gradually getting stronger and gradually has begun getting more control on her right side.

She's been not only up on her feet (briefly but several times) but she has also made a foray around the nursing home in a wheelchair. They are already planning more!

Everyone is not only happy but plain surprised at how well she's doing and how cooperating she tries to be--We know that's because she want to get home and back to watching Charlie!

I'll try to post on my blog in the future, as well as add new articles to it, but I want to thank everybody's thoughts, love and prayers for both Mother and myself.

But then, we both know how special Chan people are!

Thank you for this very positive update! I figured that your absence at Monday's Chat was due to you being with and helping your mother, so I wasn't overly concerned. Each day, I am certain that you will see some improvement, even if very gradual. Years ago, I lived near a very nice lady who suffered a similar setback. I was so surprised to see how she regained just about everything over a relatively short period of time! In this regard, I know that your mother is and will continue to do the same.

Please continue to extend our deepest best wishes to your mother who, in my humble opinion, is the very definition of "Super Mom"!
