Attention Charlie Chan fans who live in the Southern California area!

The Old Town Music Hall, located in El Segundo, California (just south of Los Angeles International Airport) will be presenting "Charlie Chan in Shanghai," starring Warner Oland with Keye Luke, on April 29, 30 and May 1 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Showtimes will be Friday: 8:15 PM, Saturday: 2:30 PM & 8:15 PM, and Sunday: 2:30 PM. Tickets are $7. It is customary for a good number of the family members of Keye Luke to show up for the Saturday screening, which makes for an extra-special evening!

I'm officially jealous.

Actually I contacted the gentleman who runs the Old Town Music Hall and got the names of the company that distributes the Chan prints he uses. It turns out they are located here in the Midwest.

It is my intention to contact them to find out what it would cost to rent one of these prints. There is a local theater that occasionally runs classic films (the owner, a man in his late 80s, is a huge fan of classic films). As long as the cost is not outrageous, I may try to convince him to book a Chan or two or three :)
