I was informed by Gene Lue that he found out that the reason Keye Luke's family did not attend the Saturday evening showing of "Charlie Chan at the Opera" at the Old Town Theater in El Segundo, CA. recently was due, actually, to a HAPPY occasion: a wedding! Gene told me that the family actually DID attend the next day's showing, a matinee.

The next Charlie Chan film that may be shown at the Old Town Theater may be, according to the theater's owner, "The Jade Mask," which, of course, featured Keye Luke's brother, Edwin, as Number Four Son, Edward (Eddie). (Edwin Luke passed away in 1886 in San Diego, CA.)

According to Gene, Keye Luke's surviving brother is currently in "frail health," however, and I am sure that we all wish him the very best for a full recovery.
