Some of the Chan children did appear in other films in uncredited "bit" parts during their youth. Also, Marianne Quon, who played Iris Chan in "Charlie Chan in the Secret Service" appeared in "Anna and the King of Siam" (1946), "Dr. Gillespie's Criminal Case" (1943), and "China" (1943). Frances Chan, who was Frances Chan in "Black Magic" appeared also in "God is My Co-Pilot" (1946), "Samurai" (1945), and "Passport to Suez" (1943). Layne Tom, Jr., who still lives in the Los Angeles area, was in six films besides the three Charlie chan films he made, in which he portrayed three different Chan sons.
