In spite of police “help,” Charlie Chan and son Lee work to solve a baffling murder case in a Los Angeles opera house on opening night of “Carnival.” (See if you can pick out Benson Fong, who later played Number Three Son, Tommy, in the “lineup” of soldiers!) Virtual “Soup and fish” attire is advised for gentlemen attending tonight’s performance…
We begin, as usual, at 8:00 p.m., EASTERN time with arrivals and greetings. Then, thirty minutes later, we begin running our personal copies of this very fine film, which allows us to watch it together as our evening’s discussion progresses.
