Please join us tonight (Monday) as our Chat/Film Viewing will feature “Eran Trece” (“There Were Thirteen” – the Spanish-language version (with English subtitles!) of the “lost” film, “Charlie Chan Carries On” - starring Manuel Arbo as Charlie Chan. This film will round out our month-long celebration of the release of the “Charlie Chan Collection, Volume 1” DVD box set from 20th Century-Fox! All this month, we have focused on the films contained in this handsomely produced collection. In this picture, Charlie Chan joins an around-the-world tour group to hopefully capture the murderer who also attacked his good friend, Inspector Duff of Scotland Yard. Will the detective unmask the killer before the tour reaches its conclusion in San Francisco?
We begin, as usual, at 8:00 p.m., EASTERN time with arrivals and greetings. Then, thirty minutes later, we begin running our personal copies of this very fine film, which allows us to watch it together as our evening’s discussion progresses.
