The 1970s animated series

Anyone remember that series from Hanna-Barbera?
It featured Keye Luke as the voice of Mr.Chan(although never refered to as "Charlie")and featured 10 children as well. Was Henry Chan the only name carried over from the film series?

Re: The 1970s animated series

Dear Red,

Yes, I do recall that cartoon series. The most notable point regarding that series, I believe, was the fact that Keye Luke, Number One Son in the movie series, supplied the voice of Charlie Chan. Also of note is Jody Foster as one of the girls in the family.

Yes, you are correct about Henry being the only name used in the cartoon that was also used in the movies. Henry was the name of the Chans' eldest son in the Earl Derr Biggers books, and the name could also be heard as a reference to that son in "Charlie Chan Carries On," the first film in the Charlie Chan series proper. It was not used again in the series, however.

Sincerely,
Rush Glick
