I think that you will be in for a treat when you see "The Black Camel" for the first time. This is the oldest film from the Charlie Chan series proper that we have available to watch today. It was only the second one made, following the "lost" "Charlie Chan Carries On," and one can see the character's portrayal still in the early stage of development by warner Oland as well as the Fox studio. Also, considering that sound pictures were still a novelty when "Camel" was shot in great measure ON LOCATION in and around Honolulu!
If I may, I might suggest that, until you have the movie availablwe to watch, you might try getting a copy of the original "Black Camel" story by Earl Derr Biggers. This will give you an interesting perspective that might enhance your viewing pleasure.
