We have changed our Chat Room configuration to a "new and improved" (your Humble Servant remains skeptical!) version of what we had before. This forced upgrade was brought about by ParaChat, who is our Chat Room service. Hopefully, all will go well, but, please expect an unwanted "bug" or two along the way. You may wish to upgrade your Java software on your computer, which allows access to our Chat Room. This is a non-intrusive software that apparently fuels ours and other Chat Rooms. You may do so by visiting: http;//java.com. Also, please try out the new Chat Room before our Chat, just to make sure that you can get in.
Also, for thse interested, TCM (Turner Classic Movies) is airing "Charlie Chan in the Secret Service" (our Chat film) three hours prior to our Chat (5:00, Eastern Time).
Well, it looks like the upgrade is weeding out the riff raff! I wasn't able to get in! I have Windows XP and I received an error message that said "Several Java Virtual Machines running in the same process caused an error." My computer stopped me from installing ActiveX and I can't install the Java upgrade.
I researched an answer and I tried this Java fix but it didn't help:
"Try setting virtual memory as System managed:
Windows XP users -
Start ---> ControlPanel --->System --->advanced ----> Performance(setting) ----> Advanced ----> virtualmemory(change) ---> Click system managed size ---> set then OK, restart your computer."
It didn't take long for me to get to the end of my limited computer knowledge!
Is ParaChat offering any solutions for people like me?
