This evening, our Monday Evening Chat and Film Viewing movie is “Charlie Chan in Rio,” starring Sidney Toler. As Charlie Chan and Number Two Son, Jimmy travel to Rio de Janeiro and are about to make an arrest of a suspected murderer, things change suddenly! Now there is a new murder case and a house filled with suspects. As Chan and son, along with Delegado of Police Souto work on this case, we can also discuss the similarities as well as differences between this film and it’s older “sister,” “The Black Camel.”
We begin, as usual, at 8:00 p.m., EASTERN time with arrivals and greetings and a trip to Virginia’s virtual beverage cart. Then, thirty minutes later, we begin running our personal copies of this very worthy film, which allows us to watch it together as our evening’s discussion progresses.
