Number One Son

Our Number One Son was born November 17, 2007 ...

Roy James Wulf
8 lbs 1 oz / 20 in.

I've been saying a few of the Chan phrases to him from Bob & Ray's parody of Charlie Chan from their National Public Radio Show...

Number One Son like river that not freeze over in winter... Mouth open year round!

Number One Son like 24-hour Chinese laundry... Never shut up!

and so forth. Anyone else remember the Bob & Ray parody of Chan? It's very amusing!

Re: Number One Son

Congratulations on the birth of your son! That is wonderful news.

Since the prime of Bob and Ray's career was a bit before my time I don't recall their Chan parody. However I have heard tapes of some of their performances and they were indeed quite funny. For those who aren't aware, Bob is the father of contemporary comic Chris Elliott.

Again, congrats on your son's birth.

Steve

Dear Douglas,

First, a belated congratulations on your Number One Son! I know that he is a blessing to your family, and I can already detect some well-placed pride on your part.

I don't recall the Bob and Ray parody that you mentioned, but, I would imagine that they had fun with it, and they probably did a good job with it, too.

Again, congratulations, and my best wishes to your to you, yours, and your Number One Son...

Sincerely,
Rush

Congratulations on the new # 1 Son.

May your family have many Merry Christmases and Happy New Years with him!

Re: Re: Number One Son

I remember a parody from a Hawaii Radio commercial of Charlie Chan from about 25 years ago... where Charlie says Number one son's name should be Smuckers, he sees a pretty girl and his legs turn to jelly and, also a line from the same commercial Charlie says to Number One Son...Knowledge is like a full cup, but in your case the cup is cracked.

This was a commercial for a small shopping mall by Aloha Stadium not far from Pearl Harbor .
