Received Volume 4 today

I just received "Volume 4" today in the mail. During last night's Chat, Steve O. mentioned the mis-spelling of Sidney (Toler) as "Sydney" on his. From a fairly quick look at mine, it appears that this is not the case with my set. It is possible that I have overlooked it, though.

This weekend, I look forward to watching some of the maaterial, not to mention a film or two. Steve's glowing review about the crystal clarity of "Charlie Chan at Treasure Island" leaves me with a case of intense anticipation...

Sincerly,
Rush Glick

Re: Received Volume 4 today

I just ordered Vol. 4 today and also 3 and 2. I have some of these movies on VHS, but want to see all of them. I am watching The Jade Mask right now.

Re: Received Volume 4 today

Dear Rush,

Congratulations on receiving your set. I noticed the "Sydney" on the cover of the Treasure Island disc as well as the cover of the Honolulu disc.

If you don't have those errors it is very likely that Fox found the error and fixed it for the remainder of the initial printing. This might even turn out to be a collector's item of sorts.

I'd love to hear what you think of Treasure Island's print.

Steve

Re: Re: Received Volume 4 today

Hi Rush and Steve:

You picqued my curiousity on the mispelling of Mr. Toler's name on the Volume 4 boxed set I received in the mail last week. I can also confirm that the covers of "Honolulu" and "Treasure Island" list "Sydney" Toler as well - at least on my copies.

Looking forward to completing my set of this excellent series.

Hope all is well!

Re: Re: Re: Received Volume 4 today

Dear Steve and Roy,

As it turns out, my set also shows "Sydney" Toler where you mentioned. I did have time to view "Charlie Chan at Treasure Island," and was VERY pleased with the clarity! It was almost like seeing it for the first time again.

The extras that I watched were well done, and look forward to seeing more of the Ken Hanke/John Cork commentary. I suspect that it is lengthy, perhaps running through the entire film?

In March, we will be featuring all of the films from "The Charlie Chan Collection, Volume 4" for our Chat/Film Viewings. I think that it will make for a very nice month.

Sincerely,
Rush
