Does anyone know which movie this quote appears in? Charlie is eating in a restaurant and says "The pearl is in the liver' of course it sounds like "The pearl is in the river" I have been going crazy trying to remember. Thanks for any help that you can give me.

Well, that's a good enough excuse to watch all the "Humble and Wise Detective" Charlie Chan films. You should find out

The quote you mention is certainly not heard in any of the films from the Charlie Chan series, proper (1931-1949). There is the possibility, however, that it could have been uttered in the spoof-like film "Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen" from 1981.
