You bring up an interesting point. All Charlie Chan films are protected by copyright and, thus, it would probably be incorrect to consider showing any over the Internet. However, the manner in which we share the viewing experience - on an individual basis - is not an issue, of course.
My DVD and VHS players are in our home and my computer is located in our detached office/library. I purchased a portable DVD player a couple years ago to solve this problem. The prices of these machines continue to, I believe, making this a possible option for yourself and others in a similar boat. Some PCs can play DVDs, too. I do not know what it would require to add this feature to a computer, though.
