I'd found the "family" late in the spring of 2007 and was really getting to enjoy the discussions. (I hadn't taken part in any of the chats because, frankly, I don't watch my Chans that often - more by design than lack of interest, I assure you: this way, each film tends to remain "fresh" for me and as special as these movies deserve rach time I watch 'em).
Then, life happened in early fall, 2007 - couple of moves invloving jobs, a computer crash and I'd lost the link here.
(Yeah, I hadn't even thought of using Google before - that's about how backwoods I am on the internet )
So, to make a long story short, after a HECTIC year, I'm back, situated, settled in, at ease and ready to be a productive member of the board here. (The only exception being I'll miss the chats due to working swingshift)
BUT, I'll be around the rest of the time - well, except for this weekend - a rare 3 day weekend in which, thanks to all the free time I've cleared, I'll be completely immersed in anything and everything Charlie Chan: From "The Black Camel" to "Sky Dragon" and everything inbetween - non-stop. It's been over a year since I've had time to dig 'em up, now I'm diving in head first for a slew of "fresh" Chan.
First, I'l grab a nicotine fix, then, even at this wee hour, I'm into "The Black Camel".
Welcome "home"! Hopefully, this next year will offer a very welcome respite from the "fast lane" that you have been experiencing. Although your working hours may not allow you to join us for our Weekly Chats, it will be a treat for all of us to read your posts here.
As it appears that you have Monday off, please drop by out Chat that evening if you have a few moments. I am sure that everyone will be very please to see you again.
Sorry, Rush - I'll be working. My schedule is flexible during the rest of the week (especially Thursdays), but Monday nights (start work at 5 p.m. MST) are unbudgable.
However, on the "marathon" front, I'm currently in the middle of "Charlie Chan at the Racetrack" - the monkey just gave away the switch of Avalanche & Gallant Lad.....
My apologies. My initial reply seemed pretty curt.
Thanks for the welcome back, Rush. I may not post as much as others thanks to my relatively rudimentary knowledge of Charlie and the film industry in general during the Depression and wartime, but I can say I'll be vastly more dependable with insights and questions - as well as sharing thoughts.
