Me and my Dad

I first started watching the Chan movies as a kid during the 1970's here in Cleveland. They usually came on late Friday night and I always watched them with my Dad. After I moved away I would catch one on cable from time to time and tape it for me and my Dad to watch. It wasn't till the boxed sets came out that we had a real chance to watch them again. I would run out and buy each set as it was released and we would watch them again and again. On January 1 my wonderful Dad passed away. The Chan movies are good but what made them great was watching them with my Dad.

Re: Me and my Dad

Chris,
I also enjoyed watching the Chan movies (among others!) with my late mother. She added a great deal to my knowledge and the fun of these old movies.

Please know that I still thank - and frequently mention - Mother in these parts. . . . Our parents, like Chan, never die as long as we remember them.

Dear Chris,

Your story about the bond between you and your father was truly touching. I am so very sorry th read of the passing of your dad. The memories that you have built over the years with regard to your shared passion for Charlie Chan is truly something to cherish, as I am certain that you have always done. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this very sad time.

Re: Me and my Dad

Chris in Cleveland,

Your absolutely correct! That's what makes "THESE MOVIES" special. You can always cherish the "Great" moments you have with family and friends. These films were made for the joy they bring(and a good mystery), hands down!

I can remember certain points of my life based on times I was watching the Chan films with those I will always LOVE. And I'm grateful for those moments. God Bless You and your Family.
