What is "Charlie Chan" translated into Chinese characters? I've looked for this in many places but not found the answer.

Simply go to Google and click on the Language Tools link to the right of the search bar. In the Translate Text block, enter 'Charlie Chan' and select languages from English to Chinese (either Simplified or Traditional). Hit 'Translate' and you will get three Chinese characters back. The first half of the first symbol resembles the Greek letter Beta.

If you copy and paste those Chinese characters into a Google Search, such as an image search, you will get a number of Chinese websites with Charlie Chan film DVD covers, Charlie Chan comic pages, and so forth.
