Our Monday Evening Chat/Film Viewing: "Charlie Chan in Egypt"

Please join us for our Monday Evening Chat/Film Viewing we watch and discuss “Charlie Chan in Egypt” starring Warner Oland. From Paris, Charlie Chan travels to Egypt to find the reason why archaeological treasures are winding up in private collections. Soon, however, murder takes center stage!

We begin, as usual, at 8:00 p.m., Eastern Time with arrivals and greetings and a trip to Virginia’s virtual beverage cart. Then, thirty minutes later, we begin running our personal copies of this very worthy film, which allows us to watch it together as our evening’s discussion progresses.

Our Chat Room is located HERE at our Charlie Chan Family Home. Please use any of the “Chat Room” links to join us.

Even if you do not happen to have a copy of our featured movie, please do join us, as you will NOT be left out of our ongoing chat and festivities. Also, as is our custom, newcomers are offered the seat of honor at our humble table.

So, let’s get together for yet another fun Monday evening as we gather to watch “Charlie Chan in Egypt.”

(PLEASE NOTE: If you would like to receive weekly email announcements regarding our Monday Evening Chats, as well as receive high-quality scanned movie still images (one per week) from our films of the week, please email us at: charliechanfamily@yahoo.com)

Sincerely,
Rush Glick

Re: Our Monday Evening Chat/Film Viewing: "Charlie Chan in Egypt"

The Rita Cansino that made only her third movie in Egypt then went on to do an incredible dancing sequence in Spencer Tracey's "Dante's Inferno" that can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj_dnnRPniU. It's also posted on my website.

Pat Paterson was an attractive as well as excellent actress playing Carol Arnold but she literally as well physically pales when Rita appears.

IMHO.

Did Paterson voluntarily retire movies after only making three more pictures (less than two dozen in all)? Probably since she was married to Charles Boyer.

But I can't help wondering since Rita Cansino went on to become the incredible Rita Hayworth!

I have also found out the music in this clip of Rita dancing is the Zarzuela Cubana by Ernesto Lecuona (Siboney) that was used for Joan Woodbury's dance in Broadway
