Does anyone know why TCM is only releasing 4 of the 11
remaining monogram movies yet unreleased? Is is this
just to make more money with 1 or 2 more releases?

Actually, it is Warner Brothers who hold the rights to the final 11 Monogram Pictures Charlie Chan films. The current release is a dual project with TCM (Turner Classic Movies). It is possible that the remaining seven Monogram Chan films will be released in one or two further box sets. There was an ongoing problem in locating suitable prints for several of the movies, and it is hoped by Yours Truly that in releasing one set of four pictures, more time has been purchased in order to locate good copies of all films. I know that Warners has literally looked high and low for them, and that they would like nothing better than to release all of of their Charlie Chan holdings.
I hope that this has been of some help. At any rate, we will soon have four more authorized Chan releases to enjoy. This leaves us with just seven more to have the whole remaining "non-lost" catalog commercially available. Please remain optimistic, everyone!
