Re: Mr. Moto's Last Warning

Johnr
I was surprised when george Sanders was showing a program to one of the other characters,to notice
"Charlie Chan in Honolulu" starring Warner Oland was listed. Later one of them passed a poster outside the theater with the same thing.t34j

yeah I thought that was a nice homage to the late Warner Oland.

Re: Mr. Moto's Last Warning

Dear John and Timothy,

When "Mr. Moto's Last Warning" was released, Warner Oland had been in the realm of his honorable ancestors for six months. I do not know wnat the production dates were for the movie, but I would imagine that it was produced after Oland's passing, which would make that poster you mention a tribute, indeed, to Mr. Oland

Before that sad day, there were plans for the next Warner Oland/Keye Luke project: "Charlie Chan in Honolulu."

Sincerely,
Rush Glick

Re: Mr. Moto's Last Warning

I had seen, somewhere, that the particular sceen in question - with the Charlie Chan poster - was being filmed when they heard of Oland's death.

Researched where I got that info, just to be sure I have remembered correctly. It was from the special feature on the DVD "Mr. Moto's Gamble", entitled "Mr. Moto meets Mr. Chan - The Making of Mr. Moto's Gamble".

I would guess that is you in that feature, Rush. Correct? Glad to meet you.

Maybe I should introduce myself, in another post, sometime? If that would be OK.

Re: Mr. Moto's Last Warning

That's right. It does have it's own featurette in the second boxed set of Mr. Moto.

I know that two mentions of the proposed "Charlie Chan in Honolulu" in "Mr. Moto's Last Warning." In the program handed to the audience and on the poster outside the theatre.

Welcom to Charlie Chan's family, Diana!

Re: Mr. Moto's Last Warning

Thank you for your very kind welcome, Virginia.

On the message board, do folks usually use their names, like I did, or user names? I guess I ask as I would prefer to use initials myself, if that is OK?
