Charlie Chan in Reno

This is a paragraph that I have posted on my page of A Calendar . . . of Mysteries for May 31:

1939 Charlie Chan in Reno is released. The second Chan film to feature Sidney Toler and Sen Yung (as the No. 1 Son, rather than Warner Oland and Keye Luke, it is received rather coolly by the critics. “Someday we hope Chan will prove himself the killer and be executed,” Frank S. Nugent wrote in The New York Times.

I have corrected it on my page but who will be the first to tell us what's wrong with this entry?!

Re: Charlie Chan in Reno

Dear Virginia,

The quote continues: "...and open the field for a non-dialectic competitor." Is that what you meant? That changes the meaning of the statement a bit.

Sincerely,
Rush

Re: Charlie Chan in Reno

This was the last film for Louise Henry who retired from acting and is still around at 99 years young!
