Re: Your Views on Roland Winters, what went right, what went wrong
Hello: It may be worth your while to get an early view of Roland Winters' Chans on DVD-R. The only place I was able to find them, currently, was at cclvideo.com. Go to "Classic Movies," and follow the links. (Note: I have NO affiliation with this company!) The copies are watchable (from 16mm copies, I think), but certainly NOT the quality of TCM/Warners. I have them, and I'd charitably rate them at 7+ to 8. Of course, one MUST get the official releases, as I have done, as soon as they are released. However, until all the Winters' versions are released, one must still find some way to watch them...
Re: Your Views on Roland Winters, what went right, what went wrong
Thank you, sir! I was a tad afraid to mention a place to obtain unofficial (pending official) release copies. I hope no one was offended! Poor Mr. Withers' Chan portrayals have not gotten the attention they deserve; however, I trust TCM/Warners will rectify that someday soon.
