I've just seen THE FALCON TAKES OVER (1942)

I've just seen THE FALCON TAKES OVER, the 1942 movie based on Raymond Chandler's novel "Farewell, my Lovely." It was nicely paced and really quite good.

I agree. The "Falcon" and "Saint" series are great--thank you RKO and TCM;>) I always liked the classy George Sanders and his brother Tom Conway in the roles.

Doesn't Gay (George Sanders) Lawrence die in that one? I wasn't too pleased at that. Why was The Falcon called the Falcon anyway? The Saint I get. His initial were ST and his name was Simon Templar.

Hello,
Yes, it was sad to see Gay Lawrence (George Sanders) die, but the transition to Tom Lawrence (Tom Conway), as the "new" Falcon, was handled very well. Here's a Wikipedia link which explains all things "Falcon."
