It seems that ThisTV, a network available on many cable/satellite carriers as well as through local broadcast, has become a friend to fans of Charlie Chan. Recently, ThisTV has shown a number of Chan films, and this Sunday, June 12, at 11:30 a.m. ET, they will be airing "Dead Men Tell." Please enjoy!
I've been keeping an eye out for Chan on ThisTV, which I watch religiously. I caught the last 45 minutes of Dead Men Tell, then opened my new DVD
to see the beginning. I note that George Reeves
played the escaped murderer who was done in midway thru the film. He was, of course, Superman, and
was not listed in the movie's casting credits. Those who've seen Gone With The Wind will also recognize him as one of Scarlet's 3 beaus on the front porch
all vying to get her to pledge a dance at the upcoming affair. He actually looked older in the Chan film than when he appeared on TV many years later.
