CHARLIE CHAN AT THE 6TH ANNUAL MID-ATLANTIC NOSTALGIA CONVENTION

Location: The Mariott Hotel, Hunt Valley, Maryland

Date/Time: Thursday, September 24, 3:00

THE GREAT CHARLIE CHAN

Charlie Chan is back! Hollywood's most famous detective starred in 47 movies, the longest-running film series in history. Mr. Chan solved crimes all around the world by summing up the facts with clever and witty quotes told to his Number 1 Son, such as: "Tongue often hang man quicker than rope," "Innocent grass may conceal snake" and "When money talks, few are deaf." 20th Century-Fox produced 21 of these films, 11 with Warner Oland and 10 with Sidney Toler. This one-hour documentary is all about these 21 classic movies -- "The Great Charlie Chan"-- which premiered in a gala event at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1968, will be introduced and presented by producer, Harvey Chertok. This special documentary has recently generated much publicity with four stories in The New York Times (including one on the Front Page!), a 5-page feature story in The New Yorker magazine, radio interviews, and a new book (The Untold Story Of The Honorable Detective). Also, 20th Century-Fox has recently released their 21 movies in DVD sets. Now, Mr. Chertok will tell why and how "The Great Charlie Chan" was produced, share his collection of Chan memorabilia, and join you for a Q&A session following the screening.

"Thank you so much" to Godwin Shelly for the above information. Sounds like an event "not to be missed"! This is an extremely rare opportunity to see the documentary that was made to accompany the exhibition of Charlie Chan films at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City in 1968!

Sincerely,
Rush Glick
