Re: The Charlie Chan Game (Round 13): "The EYES Have It"

Rush Glick
In RChanFan's absence, I will humbly take another feeble swing as a "pinch hitter," offering this week's Charlie Chan Quiz. In this one, we have four instances of the nefarious eyes of murderers, each gazing at their intended victim! The object is to name, first, the films from which these eyes belong, and second, to name correctly the killer to which each belongs!

That's a great game idea Rush! Very challenging. I wish I had the time to try to guess them right now, but I have to get some rest from this rather busy day. I'll try later on though! I think I know a couple of them at least! Good luck to everyone else though!

By the way Rush, thanks again for pinch hitting today! I think you hit a home run

This is great. Who was the guy that was obsessed with the eyeballs? Phil Rosen?

Anyway I guessed all but one for sure, but had to check on one, which was in a movie I haven't watched as much, because I have only had a copy since it came out on DVD. After double checking that movie (which I had guessed the title of, but could not remember the killer in - as there seemed to be too many bad guys in it)... here are my guesses..

1. Secret Service / Luis Phillipe Von Vegan.
2. Dangerous Money / Joseph Murdock (this is the movie I was not that familiar with).
3. Circus / Tom Holt.
4. Meeting at Midnight / William Bonner.

All these murderers had aliases, but these were the real names given at the movies' endings.

OOOPS!

I suddenly realized that even though I knew who I was thinking about in movie 4, and couldn't remember what he was called through most of the movie, I got his name wrong. I used the name of Mrs. Bonner's second husband (the first victim), instead of Shardoe the Great, her first husband. Still can't remember what he was called in the movie. The big guy with the cigarette case.

Went to IMDB, the name was Paul Hamlin. I should have remembered that, as Hamlin was the maiden name of one of my husband's great grandmothers. Silly me. Getting old here.

Dear Diana,

EXCELLENT job! I am impressed. With that last name, you nailed it. The Panama Hat is yours for the rest of the week, so please wear it proudly!

Sincerely,
Rush

Thank you so much. I am deeply honored, to wear such a revered hat. I will have to go tell my better half. He would guessed them as well, later when I could show them to him, even the Dangerous Money miscreant. I should share the hat with him (he would probably look better in it).

A belated congrats DMC. That was quite a challenge and had me stumped on a few. Great job!
