Our Monday Evening Chat/Film Viewing: "Mr. Wong, Detective"

As we draw nearer to the conclusion of our tour through the Charlie Chan series, please join us for our Monday Evening Chat and Film Viewing as we take a slight detour and watch and discuss “Mr Wong, Detective,” as we commemorate the birthday of Boris Karloff. Mr. Karloff has connections with the Charlie Chan series, playing a featured role opposite Warner Oland in “Charlie Chan at the Opera” and, in the “Proto-Chan” Fox film from 1929, “Behind That Curtain,” we see him and a minor, yet fairly memorable early role. In another “connection,” the plot for “Mr. Wong, Detective” offerd the story for our film for last week, “Docks of New Orleans.” If you do not have a copy of “Mr. Wong, Detective,” you may access it for viewing on the Internet at: http://www.archive.org/details/Mr._Wong_Detective .

Our Chat Room is located HERE at our Charlie Chan Family Home. Please use any of the “Chat Room” links to join us. We begin with arrivals and greetings at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and we roll our personal copies of our film exactly 30 minutes later.

Even if you cannot access a copy of the above-noted film, please do join us anyway, as you will NOT be left out of our ongoing chat and festivities. (Many of our films may be found available for viewing online through such outlets as You Tube, etc.) Also, as is our custom, newcomers are offered the seat of honor at our humble table.

"Thank you so much," and let’s meet for yet another fun Monday evening as we gather to watch “Mr. Wong, Detective.”

PLEASE NOTE: If you would like to receive weekly email announcements regarding our Monday Evening Chats, as well as receive high-quality scanned movie still images (one per week) from our films of the week, please email us at: charliechanfamily@yahoo.com

Thank you so much…

Sincerely,
Rush Glick
