This afternoon I watched THE CANARY MURDER CASE from 1929 on YouTube. This is the movie where Louise Brooks was completely dubbed in her role as the Canary because she would not return from Germany to record the audio. It was originally shot as a silent movie and consequently there are jumps where a title card would have gone, and scenes where another actress doubled for Ms. Brooks. Much of her performance, however, remains.
